2022 Philadelphia Flyers Celebrity Golf Invitational
Phil Herman and Kurt Hausner played in the 2022 Philadelphia Flyers Celebrity Golf Invitational (with Flyers Alum Danny Briere!). This event benefits the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation which "uses the sport of hockey to educate and empower under-resourced youth of Philadelphia to prosper in the game of life".
Phil Herman and Kurt Hausner joined Bob McGlumphy of Massasoit Tool and Tom White from Buck Hill Falls for the Weiler-TextLess Live More Scramble to End Distracted Driving. This student-led organization aims to educate and empower young people nationwide to change their behavior behind the wheel. The organization began in honor of Merritt Levitan, who died at 18 years old after being hit by a distracted driver. PH Tool was happy to contribute to this important initiative as a Corporate Sponsor.
2019 Philadelphia Flyers Celebrity Golf Invitational
Phil Herman and Kurt Hausner played in the 2019 Philadelphia Flyers Celebrity Golf Invitational in September 2019. This event was created to benefit the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation. Both Phil and Kurt are hockey fans (who also lace them up with other old slow players) when they are not working on their golf swings!
2019 Lehigh Valley Winter Classic
PH Tool™ employees participated as part of the Tinicum Squirrels hockey team in the Lehigh Valley Winter Classic in January in Bethlehem, PA. The team won their game, 3-2, but more importantly, they raised over $3500 for Special Hockey of the Lehigh Valley. The team also met Bill Clement, former Philadelphia Flyers player and 2-time Stanley Cup champ, who came to support the event.
Bridging the Gap Africa
PH Tool President Phil Herman has made two trips to Kenya to help the organization Bridging the Gap Africa build four different footbridges over dangerous river crossings. In rural Kenya, dangerous flood waters can often cut villages off from much-needed resources, including access to clinics, schools, and markets. BtGA was founded by Harmon Parker, a former CNN Hero. The organization uses skilled volunteers like Phil, as well as community participation and local resources to create safe river crossings. Find out more about their work at http://www.bridgingthegapafrica.org/.
Face Off Against Cancer
PH Tool participated in a golf fundraiser for Face Off Against Cancer in May. The golf outing took place at Lulu Country Club in Glenside, PA. Employees of PH Tool also participate in Face Off Against Cancer's main event, a hockey tournament that takes place each November at Hatfield Ice.
Participating in the golf outing this year were:
Kurt Hausner, Technical Sales
Chris Rauch, Technical Sales
Jeff Barndt, CNC Dept. Foreman
Phil Herman, President/CEO
PH Tool cherishes the opportunity to help nurture our local students when it comes to engineering and structural testing research. Local student, Maria Adamow, stopped in to share her research project that she presented in the Physics category at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. Maria is a 7th grader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, also in Doylestown. Her research focused on the acoustic properties of metals and helped her further her interest in Science. We may have another NASA astronaut from the Philadelphia area in our midst in a few years! Nice work presenting your work to the PH Tool team, Maria! I’m glad that we were able to help you with the materials and a tour of our lab. If your student is interested in what we do at PH Tool, please fill out our contact form to get in touch with us.
2018 Lehigh Valley Winter Classic
