Bridging the Gap Africa

PH Tool President Phil Herman has made two trips to Kenya to help the organization Bridging the Gap Africa build four different footbridges over dangerous river crossings. In rural Kenya, dangerous flood waters can often cut villages off from much-needed resources, including access to clinics, schools, and markets. BtGA was founded by Harmon Parker, a former CNN Hero. The organization uses skilled volunteers like Phil, as well as community participation and local resources to create safe river crossings. Find out more about their work at http://www.bridgingthegapafrica.org/.

Student Research

20180327 160414PH Tool cherishes the opportunity to help nurture our local students when it comes to engineering and structural testing research. Local student, Maria Adamow, stopped in to share her research project that she presented in the Physics category at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. Maria is a 7th grader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, also in Doylestown. Her research focused on the acoustic properties of metals and helped her further her interest in Science. We may have another NASA astronaut from the Philadelphia area in our midst in a few years! Nice work presenting your work to the PH Tool team, Maria! I’m glad that we were able to help you with the materials and a tour of our lab. If your student is interested in what we do at PH Tool, please fill out our contact form to get in touch with us.
